Cystic Fibrosis and Salt Room Therapy

Dry salt therapy is an excellent program for the symptoms of cystic fibrosis.  Inhaling dry microscopic particles of pharmaceutical grade (pure) salt while laying back in our specially designed salt room can assist the respiratory system to reduce inflammation, open the airways and clear excess congestion and mucus.

Salt acts as an anti-histamine and anti-inflammatory, which can assist in relieving inflammation in the airways and loosening the mucus. Because dry salt therapy is also anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, it helps to eliminate  pollutants or allergens that we are constantly breathing in from our environment, which can cause irritation in the lungs and a persistent cough.

When our lungs are weakened from cystic fibrosis, it can be detrimental to our health. The slightest cold can result in weeks of sickness and downtime. Dry salt therapy  in addition to your usual regimen  can assist the body in healing itself  quicker and eliminating irritants.  Salt Therapy is not a cure; it is a support for your lungs to help open and relieve inflammation and congestion throughout your airways.

Recommended Treatment

Frequency is important for salt therapy and cystic fibrosis.

Dry salt therapy is typically recommended to do once per week as a routine maintenance.

If you catch a cold or feel run down, you may want to add additional treatments to help keep your lungs as clear as possible from infection.

Our dry salt therapy room in Lake Mary is a soothing and calming room that allows you to lay back and breathe in the salt mist generated by our halogenerator.
